As the New Year is officially here, it brings in new energy and a great time to refresh homes - but without breaking the bank. Now is the ideal time to switch up mattress, pillows and bedding, and shoppers are in luck as the homeware brand, Emma, has up to 30% off its products until 12th January.

First up in the sale is the Emma Flip Mattress Topper, that's priced between £116.80 for the single size (90 x 190cm), down from £146, to £184.80 for a Super Kingsize (180 x 200cm), down from £231. This saves customers 20% and is its lowest ever price.

How it works is, the 6cm topper contains Point Elastic Airgocell technology that is created to ‘enhance breathability’ and promote airflow by absorbing and removing sweat. This essentially means that any rising temperatures won’t disturb sleepers.

The topper also has a HRX base foam - High Resiliency Extra - which is designed to keep spines evenly aligned, regardless of the sleeping position, and it helps aid rest and recovery. The cover is also soft to touch and easy to wash for when it gets overused.

For added variety, it is reversible and has two unique sides that shoppers can choose from. One is firmer and the other softer, so it’s a great option that can meet the needs of both.

There is also the Emma Premium Mattress Topper, with prices ranging from £171 for a single, down from £228, to £299.25 for a Super Kingsize, down from £399, saving customers 25% on their purchase. Available in the same sizes as the previous one, this is a more advanced version due to its ‘innovative graphite coating’ that is said to ensure an extended deep sleep phase.

It also adds 8cm of height to mattresses and it ensures that body temperature stays regulated through the night. There are also sales on mattresses, too. For example, the Emma Hybrid Thermosync Mattress is now £389.25 down from £519 for a single size, offering 25% in savings.

It is available in sizes single (90 x 190cm) to super king (180 x 200cm). Similar to the toppers, it features ThermoSync foam that draws excess heat away and helps buyers maintain a balanced temperature while sleeping. There is also the Emma Hybrid Airgrid Mattress for £468.30 for a single, down from £669, offering 30% off. It has a bottom cover that grips to bed frames to ensure the mattress stays secure and stable.

For some alternative options, is the TheraPur ActiGel Cool Mattress Topper from £170 for a double size from Dreams. The brand says 'this cooling pick helps aid temperature regulation by wicking away moisture and keeping you comfortable all night long', and it can fit mattresses up to 32cm thick.

Another is the Hotel Luxury Cotton Mattress Topper for £22.40 to £33.60 at Dunelm. This is available for single, double, kingsize and super kingsize beds, so there is an option for everyone to choose from, and it is made from a 100% polyester filling.

However, shoppers have rated the flip mattress toppers from Emma highly on the website. One person said: “This topper changed my sleeping life. I should have found it ages ago and my health would be much better.”

A second wrote: “I had bought a topper for my sofa bed and it was so good that I bought one for my own bed. So very comfortable and no aches or pains in the morning. Would 100% recommend it!”

A handful of others disagreed slightly, as one said: “It’s okay, didn’t know there was a thicker one, would have bought that instead.”

Overall, most people were pleased, however, as this person said: “Loving our new topper. We struggled to tell the difference between which was the firm side and the soft side. But happy as it is a great upgrade on our old one. Our mattress itself is far too firm. This topper adds just the right amount of comfort without being too soft.”
