For many of us, the start of the festive season doesn’t officially begin until Boots launches its famous three-for-two Christmas gift offer. As someone who spent four years working for the retailer (and loved nothing more than the day festive stock was delivered), plus three years as a shopping journalist, I can say with certainty that this is one of the best value Christmas gifting events in the UK.

The three-for-two gifting deal has been a Christmas tradition at Boots for decades, designed to make gifting more affordable and fun. The idea is that shoppers can buy three gifts, and get every third item free.

The deal used to see the cheapest item free, but customers wanting to buy gifts of varying prices would have to do separate transactions to get the best price. Recognising this, the retailer tweaked the offer to make every third product free, so no matter how much the gifts cost, the checkout will automatically work out the best deal for shoppers.

Not only does the three for two offer save money, but is perfect for ticking off multiple people from your list in one go. There are currently over 1,000 gifts in the three for two deal spanning beauty, wellness, fragrance, tech, and home. According to the brand 48% of the gifts are £10 and under this year, making the festive season even more affordable.

Elsewhere, many retailers are launching offers and deals ahead of Black Friday. Celebrity-loved brand Give Me Cosmetics has launched its Early Black Friday Sale, including a £91.90 bundle which is down to £19.99. As part of the sale, shoppers can beat the rush and secure the biggest discounts, saving up to 60% on bestsellers, fan favourites, and viral beauty essentials.

Meanwhile, TopCashback is often popular with Christmas shoppers as a way to save money. Customers can sign up for a free account and get a £15 sign-up bonus on a £15 spend, which can be used to effectively lower the cost of purchases at various retailers.

So whether shopping for a skincare lover, a candle obsessive, or the person who insists they ‘don’t need anything,’ Boots almost always has a match. Here are my top picks for 2025:

Over £50

Bondi Sands Best of Bondi 8 Piece Gift Set – £100

If your recipient loves a golden glow year-round, this is the ultimate tanning and bodycare bundle. It includes eight of Bondi Sands bestsellers and tools, making it ideal for beauty lovers or someone jetting off on a winter holiday. However, it’s worth noting that some of the high-ticket items do sometimes find themselves reduced in Boots Star Gifts, which means we could see this discounted in coming weeks, if we go off previous years.

No7 The Ultimate Skincare Collection - £85

What I really like about this No7 The Ultimate Skincare Collection is that it saves money even before the three for two deal, with a total value of £135 - a £50 saving. The hero set from one of Boots’ most iconic brands is packed with anti-aging favourites and daily essentials, including a No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Night Cream and mini retinol. This really makes a great gift for mums, aunties, nans and skincare enthusiasts alike.

Yankee Candle 8 Piece Set – £60

Candles are an easy crowd-pleaser, and this Yankee Candle set covers multiple fragrances for every mood. The set includes one medium jar in Christmas Cookie, two wax melts, three votive candles and two small candles in scents like Black Cherry and Cinnamon Stick. It’s a great option if you’re gifting couples or families, particularly those who love to host guests or simply enjoy a cosy evening in.

£50 and Under

Bubble Dazzling Days 3 Step Refresh Routine - £35

Bubble has been a huge hit with Gen Z, so if you’ve got a teen or pre-teen on your gift list, this skincare set is both fun and effective. Beauty fans can cleanse with Fresh Start, nourish dry skin with the Slam Dunk moisturiser, then swipe on Tell All Peppermint Lip Balm for the finishing touch. Plus, it can all be stored in the exclusive travel bag. One shopper described it as the ‘perfect grab and go set for traveling’.

This set is definitely better for those with dry skin types, so people with oilier complexions might want to consider a set that contains the brands Level Up Balancing Gel Moisturiser instead.

Arkive Everyday Radiance Trio Set – £36

Have a haircare lover to buy for? This salon-worthy haircare set is great value and ideal for those who love a polished blow-dry at home. Created by celebrity hair stylist Adam Reed, Arkive has become a go-to for those looking to achieve luscious locks without breaking the bank.

This three-piece set contains the brands All Day Everyday Shampoo and Conditioner (£13 each) to cleanse and nourish hair in the shower, with my personal favourite, the Good Habit Oil (worth £15 alone) to deliver shine.

No7 Men Ultimate Grooming Collection – £48

Finding great gifts for men can be tricky, but this No7 set makes it so easy. In fact, I’ve bought variations of this set for my dad, brother and granddad over the years. Priced at £48, it contains £69.75 worth of products, including a body wash, face wash, face scrub, eye cream rounded off with a day cream and night moisturiser. It’s a very strong all-rounder at a great price point.

£30 and Under

Naeo Esme Glass Aroma Diffuser - £30

Firmly on my own wishlist is this beautiful Naeo diffuser, which is perfect for anyone who loves their home smelling like a spa. Designed with a glass cover in a tortoise shell design, this diffuser looks far more expensive than its price tag would suggest, with luxury wellbeing brand NEOM’s similar offering costing £109. This makes a lovely gift for new homeowners, wellness lovers, or anyone who needs a moment of calm.

Champneys Luxury Robe - £25

Following a recent spa trip, my partner has done nothing but ask for a Champneys robe for Christmas and thankfully, Boots has them in stock for a purse-friendly £25. As well as the usual spa-white, there’s also a navy option which I think is more practical for home life. The only downside to these is that they only come in one size - medium - which may be too big or too small for some wearers.

Coco & Eve Self Tan Travel Kit - £24

Beloved by our shopping team is Coco & Eve’s self tanning products, and this travel-friendly kit is a fab stocking filler for glow-getters and holiday-goers alike. It includes that brand’s popular Bali Bronzing Foam and Velvet Self Tan Applicator Mitt, and promises ‘no streaks, no bad smells and no stress’. Formulated with a green-grey base, it’s designed to deliver a natural-looking golden glow with no orangey tones in an allergen-free formula.

However, it is sometimes worth shopping around, especially if for those who are not planning to take advantage of the three-for-two offer. At LookFantastic, this same set is priced at £23 and the code SAVE currently takes it down to £18.40 at the checkout.
