The Traitors fans have predicted a huge "second envelope" twist that could change the course of the entire game as we know it.
The hit BBC One game show returned to screens on New Year's Day and there have been plenty of twists and turns and explosive moments. Just this week, viewers were stunned when former barrister and published author Harriet Tyce willingly gave up her space in the castle in the hopes of outing who she believed to be a Traitor.
It came after the 53-year-old confronted co-star Rachel, who she believed to be a Traitor, in what was a nail biting instalment last night (January 14).
But now, fans have predicted a huge twist which would change the entire game as we know it. Taking to Reddit, one eagle eyed viewer spotted an easily missed moment during an Uncloaked episode which they believe tells all.
In a post titled 'The Second Envelope', the fan wrote: "During the Traitor reveals in each episode of Uncloaked (where the banished / murdered players find out the identities of the Traitors), there has been a second wax-sealed envelope on the table which we do not get to see the players open.
"Whilst this has been a subtle detail in previous episodes, the edit in tonight's Uncloaked went out of its way to highlight it on the side table.
"It's logical to assume that the contestants don't know whatever the envelope reveals, and also that the show wants to keep its contents secret from us - which to me points to a significant gameplay twist that's been running since Episode 1."
Explaining their theory, the Traitors fan said they believed another secret player had been chosen - the Soothsayer - who would have the power to reveal whether another player was a Faithful or Traitor.
Given the potential Soothsayer's secret identity, the fan went on to say they would "use their newfound knowledge to secretly persuade other Faithfuls to banish Traitors without revealing their own identity as a Soothsayer."
They continued: "If the Soothsayer role does exist in Season 4, there are a few small clues to suggest it could be Ellie. Her reference to a Secret Traitor in an earlier episode (having revealed Fiona), coupled with her refusal to vote for Harriet tonight (as she knew she was Faithful) could be hints that she knows more than the other players around her.
"Of course this is just a theory, but with the number of big twists we've already had this season, coupled with the emphasis on that second envelope in tonight's Uncloaked, has left me believing we've got a big reveal coming in the finale - and this is as good a theory as I could think of!"
Not everyone was convinced, as one viewer suggested the envelope could actually be a list of connections between the players in the castle. Judy is Roxy's mum, while Ellie and Ross are a couple, but those clandestine connections have not yet been revealed to their co-stars.
Meanwhile another viewer wrote: "It does seem strange that Uncloaked would have shown two close-ups of that second envelope tonight if it was purely just about a hidden relationship - surely they'd want to keep attention away from it if it was a minor plot point?"
