Langport prides itself on being one of the smallest towns in the UK. It town has a fascinating history, hosting a decisive battle in the English Civil War and being the home of The Economist founder Walter Bagehot. The River Parrett dominates the landscape and provided much of the community’s trade before the railway came along. The town was a finalist in the 2016 Great British High Street competition, thanks in no small part to its distinctive high street.
