Mickleham is easy to get to on the 465 bus from Kingston or Surbiton

Nestled in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a beautiful village that is so close to the capital you can get there by London bus in about 45 minutes.

Mickleham is named in Conde Nast Traveller's list of the prettiest villages near London and is easy to get to on the 465 bus from Kingston or Surbiton.

The pretty village is located just 18 miles from the centre of London and sits just below Box Hill, a famous spot for London cyclists. If the long cycle isn't for you, you can hop on a few buses from London and enjoy a countryside walk instead.

With fantastic old pubs like The Running Horses and the William IV, Mickleham is the perfect base for a walk to Norbury Park viewpoint, the National Trust sites at Polesden Lacey and Headley Heath, or Box Hill.

If you have kids in tow, you can visit Bocketts Farm Park while in Norbury Park, or if its just adults you can pop over to Denbies Wine Estate for a taste of English wine.
If you are from South West London, the visit can be done on a tight budget, as you could benefit from the Hopper fare for just Β£1.55 if you transfer to the 465 at Central Kingston or Surbiton Station.
