Strictly Come Dancing star Balvinder Sopal has opened up about her "tough" time on the BBC One show in an emotional post after yesterday's dance-off. The EastEnders star, 46, landed in the bottom two during last night's results show, however it was rugby player Chris Robshaw who became the latest contestant to leave the show.

After performing for the judges one more time, judges Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke voted to save Chris. However after Motsi Mabuse voted to save Balvinder, Craig's deciding vote meant that she stayed in the competition.

Taking to Instagram after the results show, Balvinder shared a candid post about going through a "rough" week, admitting that she had a "breakdown" midway through. "What a tough week - never knew my heart could beat that fast!" she said.
β
"@julian_caillon and I had had a rough week - being bottom two the week before, we knew we had to dig deep - go somewhere that was uncomfortable for me - after a breakdown mid week - I had to tell myself that I was good enough to dance again and bring the essence of the Paso."
She added that "it's never nice when someone goes home" and that she sees Julian and the Strictly team more than her "own family and loved ones at the moment". She added: "I miss the warmth and strength of my mum, my anchor.
β
"This process can be quite lonely. But I'm having the best time, look at smiles of these gorgeous people. They are everything." Balvinder went onto thanks Motsi and Craig for saving her and Julian, before praising her professional dance partner for helping her "find the rhythm".
She said: "I love every moment with you in the rehearsal room and on the dance floor; your choreography is dynamic and creative - you are intuitive and know what I need whether it's all going wrong or right.
β
"And, even though I am so out of my comfort zone you make me want to dive in again and again and find the music."
After saying that Chris will be "truly missed", she said that she's ready to go again and step into Icons week. "Come Jules, let's dance again."
Yesterday's bottom two reveal left fans fuming, with many furious over Balvinder being in the dance-off. "this is a JOKE atp. Balvinder was SENSATIONAL tonight. how the fudge is she in the bottom two," one viewer said.
Balvinder found herself in the middle of Saturday night's scoreboard, receiving a total of 28 from the judges. Meanwhile, Drag Race UK star La Voix dropped to the bottom with their score of 14.
This was mainly due to the drag queen receiving a brutal two paddle from Shirley. However many fans backed La Voix because of her brilliant bond with host Tess Daly, with her roasting the presenter's outfit and praising that she'd gone from "bath mat to bedsheet in one week".
