Rita Ora has revealed her thoughts on Monica Michael's last minute X Factor Wild Card.

Monica's mentor Rita, who picked other singers () after Judges' Houses, has spoken out saying that the decision to axe Monica really shook her up.

Rita said: "I couldn't sleep Sunday night thinking about Monica and if I could convince the other judges of giving her a wildcard."

On Sunday night's live Judges' Houses show, Rita was joined by popstar Meghan Trainor at Judges' Houses in Los Angeles where she worked on whittling the six performers in her Girls category down to three.

Rita chose Louisa Johnson, Lauren Murray and Kiera Weathers.

It seems Rita really won the other judges over bringing back Monica though.

She added: "It's so great that Simon, Cheryl and Grimmy agreed. What a rollercoaster for Monica but sooo glad to have her back. So exciting."

Monica said: "I’m so hyped to be back as the wildcard. Thank you to all the Judges for believing in me and for the public for supporting me. See you on Saturday night!”

The much-loved Wild Card slot - which sees a contestant from the previous round join the live shows - was unveiled on the ITV programme's official Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

The post, which will please many fans, simply read: "We are VERY excited to announce that this year's #XFactor Wild Card IS...@monicamichaeluk! #XtraFactor"

Monica Michael, who lost out on a place in Rita Ora's group of girls, has been given another lifeline.

Following the announcement, Monica took to Twitter to say: "Hi guys! I know Halloween is upon us but this is not a trick... I AM BACK!!!! #XtraFactor #WildCard"
