Willie Carson is in hot water with I’m a Celebrity bosses after being caught red-handed smuggling chilli into camp.

He faces a “severe reprimand” after he was heard boasting about having the contraband – which producers think he smuggled into the jungle in his underpants.

ITV’s cameras spotted Willie slipping spices into the contestants’ saucepans.

The ex-jockey was even heard asking Stefanie Powers: “Do you want one or two?”

Jessica-Jane Clement leaned over to hide the sneaky manoeuvre and Hollywood icon Stefanie tried to cover up the mischief by whispering, “Shh, don’t talk”.

Willie then announced: “We put a bit of chilli and a bit of the other stuff in it so hopefully it will be a bit more tasty than it should be.”

The move has echoes of when Gillian McKeith smuggled in salt, garlic and soup last year – and earned a rebuke from producers.

Scottish nutritionist Gillian, who is in Australia working on the ITV2 spin-off show, admits she is over the moon at the thought of a fellow jungle dweller following in her footsteps. She said: “I love Willie. He’s broken the rules – and I love it.

“However, I’m a little concerned. It appears that the information has got out too early and it’s going to be confiscated way too soon.

“I didn’t reveal my knicker stash until much later on.”

Gillian famously stitched 16 pockets into her underwear to smuggle in a variety of herbs and spices to add flavour to their jungle rations. She added: “Willie is my man. He’s broken the rules, but sometimes the rules are meant to be broken.

“You don’t want to be a follower in life. Sometimes you have to stand apart.”

Meanwhile Sinitta and fellow ‘newbie’, DJ Pat Sharp, made a dramatic entrance into the jungle.

The pair chose to cross a highwire suspended above a ravine so they could win an evening meal for their campmates.

However, their next challenge was to spend the night inside a cave, later filled with cockroaches, to win their camp luxury items.

Sinitta described the experience of being in the jungle as “my number one nightmare”.
