The infamous Baywatch TV series has been off our screens for 25 years and made stars out of its cast members. The action drama saw a cast of lifeguards patrol the beaches of Los Angeles in California in their iconic red swimsuits and shorts.

The show was poorly received yet was one of the most-watched TV shows globally in the 1990s. Pamela Anderson became an international sex symbol overnight thanks to her role as C.J. Parker, David Hasselhoff cemented his status as a TV star and Carmen Electra became a regular face in TV, film and magazines.

The new documentary will feature dozens of new cast interviews, including with Nicole Eggert, Carmen Electra, David Hasselhoff, David Chokachi and Jeremy Jackson, plus never-before-seen footage. After Baywatch looks at how its red swimwear-clad cast set beauty standards in the 90s and how the show got sex to sell.

After Baywatch: A Moment In The Sun will be arriving on Disney+ in the UK on Wednesday, September 18. All four episodes will be available on the streaming platform.
The documentary will also highlight some of the series' biggest talking points and controversies, including Tommy Leeโs jealousy over Pamela Anderson, Jeremy Jacksonโs struggles with addiction and secret admission and Gregory Allen Williamsโ honest discussion about race and representation.
The plot synopsis from Disney reads: "A new docuseries that delivers a nostalgic and insightful exploration of 'Baywatch', the cultural phenomenon that defined an era, and an unprecedented look into the stars who brought the world's most famous lifeguards to life.
"Through dozens of new cast interviews and never-before-seen footage, this docuseries unpacks how the show captured the mythology of California's beach culture, set physical beauty standards for an entire generation, and capitalised on the adage 'sex sells'."
