Fans of the Fallout games and TV show are about to have the chance to experience its dystopian world first-hand thanks to a brand new reality show.

Prime Video has announced its new competition series, Fallout Shelter, which will plunge players into one of Vault-Tec's vaults, where they will live together as vault-dwellers and compete in a series of challenges that range from moral dilemmas to teamwork tasks.

β€Œ

Each of the games tests a specific skill from the world of Fallout: Strength, perception, endurance, charisma, intelligence, agility and, of course, luck. The streaming giant promises a cash prize at the end, though the exact amount remains under wraps.

β€Œ

A synopsis teases: "The series will not only test dwellers’ core attributes, but also their loyalty and alliances. It’s a game of power dynamics, popularity and social strategy which will ultimately result in a huge cash prize."

The new series is set to span 10 episodes which will air exclusively on Prime Video. It will be made available in over 240 countries.

A casting call has now been put out for the show with the closing date listed as February 15, 2026. Applicants are asked to fill out this online form which asks for would-be players' character flaws, interesting facts, how charismatic they are and whether they're a Fallout fan.

Filming is set to take place in June this year over the course of three weeks. Only those aged over 21 can apply and the production company states that those taking part must be able to legally travel to the UK and US for promotion and publicity.

It comes following the success of the Fallout TV series which is currently airing its second season and stars Ella Purnell and Walter Goggins.

The reality series is inspired by both the TV drama and original games, and will be produced by Studio Lambert in co-production with Kilter Films, and in association with Amazon MGM Studios and Bethesda Game Studios. Studio Lambert's other hit reality franchise's include The Traitors, Squid Game: The Challenge and Undercover Boss.

"They're gonna milk everything out of the Fallout brand except make a new game," one Fallout fan said, responding to the reality show news. Meanwhile another joked: "Feels like β€œmake the vault experiments real” is the exact opposite of the main message of the series lmao."

"Fallout Jersey Shore was not what I was expecting today," penned a third. A fourth remarked: "Get voted out of the Vault and experience the wasteland."
