EastEnders fans 'rumble' who actually killed Anthony - but it's not Jasmine - The Mirror

EastEnders' latest episode saw Jasmine confess to her father Anthony Trueman's corpse that she killed him with a video seeming to back this, but fans are sure it's a red herring

After an apparent murder confession on EastEnders on Thursday night, some fans think it's a red herring.

In the episode, Jasmine confirmed that she had killed Anthony Trueman on Christmas Day. She even showed his corpse a video of her committing the act, as she visited him in the undertakers.

She told him how she has no regrets about her crime, and that she stopped him from killing her mother Zoe Slater. Jasmine only found out Anthony was her dad after his death, and she's been struggling ever since.

Currently, Zoe is in prison for the crime and her mother Kat Moon believes Chrissie Watts is the killer. Jasmine's words appeared to suggest she'd done it though, allowing others to believe Chrissie was to blame.

With Kat eager to track down Chrissie and free Zoe, it could be just a matter of time before the truth outs. But what if EastEnders is airing another red herring?

One theory is that Jasmine hasn't confessed at all, and is not the killer. The theory suggests she may have been involved after her comments about stopping him, but that she did not cause his fatal injuries.

After all, the video does show him being attacked, but it's from a selfie point of view, and only at the end does she turn it round to show her identity. So could someone else have been there too?

When Anthony launched himself at Jasmine amid his rage, could someone else have attacked him to save Jasmine? One theory suggests that Chrissie was with Jasmine at the time, and she did in fact kill Anthony.

A fan said: "Jasmine video hurting Anthony or her videoing Chrissie hurting Anthony? Either way, she's withholding evidence hence too guilty to go funeral."

Another viewer posted: "I can't help but feel like even though there's the video and Jasmine said what she said, they'll still find a way to reveal Chrissie was also there, and was the actual killer? I don't trust the soaps."

A third post said: "I still think there's more to it and not shown in the video was Chrissie who is the real attacker saving Jasmine." Meanwhile, another fan commented: "This has got Chrissie written all over it for me. It just wouldn't have been worth it if it was Jasmine. And I'm still not over the epic return at Chrissiemas, got to be one of the campest comebacks ever in a soap and WE NEED MORE."
