Eamonn Holmes has been inundated with support after sharing a health update. The 66-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday (January 14) to reveal that he'd recently faced some "awful days".

He wrote: "Awful days yesterday and this morning. Really heavy cold. Can't stop sneezing. No energy."

The Irish broadcaster was quickly met with support from fans, who flooded the comments section with well wishes. "Oh bless you, get well soon Eamonn!" one person wrote.

Another added: "Get well soon," while a third said: "It's a horrible feeling when you have a cold or flu. I wish you well and hope you feel better soon."

A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: "Get better soon Eamonn. Have plenty of rest," with another similarly sharing: "You poor old soul. Hope you're soon feeling better."

Someone else shared advice for the star: "Lemon and ginger are obvious remedies but another thing that's not considered common is garlic. I prefer pickled garlic cloves daily and a walk in the fresh air and sunshine. Cold shower if I can manage it, you'll be fresh as a daisy in no time."

Eamonn was notably absent from his GB News Breakfast show with Ellie Costello this morning (January 14), with Stephen Dixon stepping in to replace him. The former This Morning presenter usually hosts the show with Ellie from Monday to Wednesday.

Eamonn's health update comes after the broadcaster admitted he was enduring "one of the toughest periods of his life" after facing mobility issues from back surgery. Eamonn's chronic condition began in 2021, which forced him to use a stick to help him walk.

The pain was caused by a dislocated pelvis, which later resulted in him sustaining three slipped discs. Eamonn then underwent spinal surgery in 2022 to address the pain, which unfortuntely "went wrong".

His condition worsened after the first surgery, greatly affecting his legs. Eamonn then fell down a flight of stairs, breaking his shoulder and leaving him reliant on walking frames and wheelchairs.

While presenting his GB News show shortly after fracturing his shoulder, Eamonn candidly shared: "It's been a hellish few weeks. But day by day I'm improving and I am remaining positive and trying to look on the bright side."

He explained that he would need "extra time off" so he could recover, before going on to praise the NHS staff who had been taking care of him. He added: "Also, I really must say a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nursing staff who have been looking after me. They are all amazing. God bless."

It's been a turbulent period for the star after he announced his plans to divorce wife Ruth Langsford after 14 years of marriage back in 2024. Eamonn is now dating 43-year-old relationship counsellor Katie Alexander.

Breakfast with Eamonn and Ellie airs everyday from 6am on GB News
