Downton Abbey is full of intrigue this Christmas(Image: Carnival Film & Television Ltd)
Itβs grouse shooting season for Downton Abbey βs upstairs clan and Roseβs father-in-law, Lord Sinderby, has rented out Brancaster Castle in Northumberland, inviting the Crawley family to a shooting party.
β
While good sport is enjoyed, their butler Stowell (played by guest star Alun Armstrong) has an axe to grind and a scandalous secret threatens to create havoc over the holidays. Fancy!
β
With maid Anna facing an uncertain future behind bars, Bates takes drastic measures in a bid to clear her name.
β
But Hugh Bonneville, who plays Lord Grantham, assures us: "It is very heartwarming. You will have a lump in your throat."
