A pair of BBC Breakfast stars were involved in a tense exchange on Thursday (November 13) as Naga Munchetty said, "I hate to agree with you".

Throughout today's broadcast of the popular morning show, Naga and her co-star Charlie Stayt kept viewers informed with the latest developments from Britain and beyond.

Sports presenter Mike Bushell joined them in the studio to deliver his segment, whilst weather forecaster Matt Taylor provided regular updates. Economics correspondent Emma Vardy also contributed with financial news.

Later during the programme, Charlie and Naga introduced a feature about an unusual rope artwork.

"You've probably heard the saying, 'Money for old rope'. Well, the artist David Shrigley has taken the concept to another level," Naga began, reports the Express.

Charlie continued: "The renowned British artist has launched a new exhibition featuring ten tonnes of discarded rope. The installation is up for sale for £1 million."

In the report, visual artist David explained his inspiration for creating the piece, stating: "I was interested in the idea that this is a thing that has no value, where its purpose has been exhausted."

Following the feature, Charlie confessed that he wanted to get a copy of the artwork for the BBC studio, remarking: "I really like that."

An awkward moment then followed, as Naga responded: "I hate to agree with you, but I do."

Charlie continued: "We can have it installed here somewhere, couldn't we? It would look quite nice. What do you think about that?"

The duo sat in an awkward silence for a few moments, before receiving a straightforward response through their earpieces.

After their boss shot down the idea, Charlie continued: "Apparently that's not gone down well, so, no we're not going to do that, our director's just said! I think it'd be nice."

Naga swiftly shifted the conversation, wrapping up with: "Good. I think we should get the news, travel and weather wherever you are. We'll see you later!"

Elsewhere on today's programme, Naga and Charlie announced the tragic death of Baroness Helen Newlove, as well as delivering breaking news about the UK economy experiencing slower than anticipated growth of 0.1% in the three months leading up to September.
