Celebrity Big Brother fans were left asking if Ekin-Su's mum was OK after she said her dad was an "alien" and asked for the hosts to "keep it a secret" during her appearance on the spin-off show today.

Love Island winner Ekin-Su, 29, was one of the 13 famous faces to enter the iconic house during this evening's live launch, joining the likes of Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Fern Britton. To show her support for her daughter, her mum Sezer made an appearance on ITV2's Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live with other housemates' friends and family.

But viewers were left a little bemused as she chatted to hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu, during which Will jokingly asked if Ekin-Su had ever met an alien. "This is a secret, please keep it a secret," she replied. "Her dad actually is [an] alien." Trying not to laugh, Will repeated: "Her dad's an alien? Oh my goodness." Sezer continued: "Please keep a secret."

As Will promised he wouldn't tell anyone, she continued: "I don't know why she keeps talking about aliens - keep a secret." Panel host Oti Mabuse appeared bemused by the chat as she made a face, while AJ finished the awkward chat by saying: "It's out of this world, isn't it? We'll kleep it a secret, we'll keep it a secret."

And fans were left in tears of laughter, with one commenting: "Ekin-Su's Mum going full Jennifer Coolidge saying her dad is an alien was not on my bingo card #CBBUK." While another commented: "WTH is going on on #LateAndLive?! Ekin-Su's mum just said her dad is an alien but "keep it a secret". #CBB #CBBUK." A third wrote: "WHAT IS EKIN SUS MUM ON ABOUT BAHAHA #CBBUK." Another asked: "Is Ekin-Su’s mum ok #CBBUK #cbbll."

It's been six years since Celebrity Big Brother graced our TV screens, but the show kicked off with a bang this evening as this year's stars stepped into the iconic house. The tension certainly ramped up as the launch aired live for the first time for ITV as hosts AJ and Will welcomed the stars into the fold.

To ensure they secured the best of the best for their very first series, ITV bosses are said to have splurged £2million on the diverse line-up. With throwback names like Louis Walsh and Fern Britton to newer faces like Heartstopper's Bradley Riches and presenter Zeze Millz and then Kate Middleton's uncle, this year's series could prove to be its most dramatic yet.

Last week, the Mirror was invited to a sneak peak tour of the celebrity house and host Will revealed the house has undergone one huge change from last year’s reboot - frosted shower doors. "To give the new housemates some more privacy," he explained. Fair enough!

The house is bright and beautiful with glitzy stars found on the floor throughout the house. Inside the living area the celebrities will find the open plan living space with colourful sofas in a circle – which sets the scene for the new housemates having to do face-to-face nominations. The sofas back onto the kitchen and glitzy dining area, meaning celebrities will find little room for privacy.

Considering this year's line-up, plenty of hot tea looks ready to be spilled and secret gossip shared - and there's one person who certainly won't hold back from dishing the dirt. "Everyone loves Louis and they’ll see him for the fun, big hearted and spirited person that he is in the Big Brother house," a source close to Louis told the Mirror. "But the thing you have to remember about Louis is that he’ll say it how it is and if he’s doesn’t like something, he won’t hold back. He’ll be entertaining and I expect he’ll do really well."

He will be reunited with his former X Factor co-star and long-time pal Sharon Osbourne later this month when the mum-of-three enters the Celebrity Big Brother house as a special guest. While fans will be looking forward to watching some possible antics from the two friends, but both stars will be on their best behaviour if ITV bosses get their way.

Sharon and Louis were famous for their scandalous remarks and actions during their time on The X Factor. But since their last appearance on the show in 2017, ITV has done more to look after the well-being of its stars. Both stars have been given "respect and inclusion" training ahead of making their CBB debuts.

Louis and Sharon - in addition to all 2024 Celebrity Big Brother housemates - have been given training to grasp what counts as proper "use of language and behaviour" before entering the famous house on Monday night. Speaking prior to the standard series of Big Brother kicking off last summer, ITV said: "Housemates are provided with and talked through the Housemate rules, which set out expectations and explain key aspects of life in the Big Brother House."
