TV presenter Alex Scott has opened up about how much she will miss girlfriend Jess Glynne in the jungle, saying the pair are β€œgenuinely so in love”

The TV presenter and former Lioness admits her taking part on the show will mark the longest they have ever been apart. The former England star, who is heading into the I’m A Celebrity camp, said singer Jess pushed her to say yes to the ITV show.

β€Œ

She said: β€œIt is a test for both of us. I know she is at home, and she is going to be my biggest cheerleader, supporting me, and she really wanted me to do this because she knew that I wanted to test myself, and it is going to be a challenge for us both being separated. But I suppose that is what makes the heart grow fonder, right?

She laughed that Jess has turned her into a carb lover. She says: β€œSo I have never really enjoyed it, but now I understand the flavour. Absolutely love it.”Alex admitted the couple, who only went public with their romance after keeping things private at first, are still fiercely protective of what they have.

She said: β€œI suppose my relationship with Jess from the start, we were very guarded and private with that, because we wanted to just kind of get to know each other and let what it was blossom and us figure out it ourselves before it was out there for the world.”

Asked what fans might not realise about their relationship, Alex said: β€œI do not know, because I feel like what they have seen, whether it is on our social medias or anything, is just two people that are genuinely so in love and just care for each other and want each other both to just thrive and do the best in life. But we just want to do it together.”

Inside camp, Alex is braced for creepy crawlies and sleep deprivation, but says the emotional side might be even tougher.

β€œI think for me, that might be the tough side,” she said. β€œI think I have always been so guarded and had this big armour up as a way of protection and kind of not letting people in… So I feel like being in the jungle and having those conversations, maybe I will have to show a vulnerable side and not have that armour up so much.”

She also hopes that being on the show might help her shake off her shyness. She says: β€œI am actually really quite shy. Which people around me know but I think people have a perception of me when you work on TV that you are the most outgoing, loudest one in the room. Where I think my challenge is going to be iss amongst a group of big personalities. So I just kind of wanted to test myself in a new environment and see who comes out the other side really.”
