HOLLAND'S ALEX GET A BOOSTER INJECTION

CARLISLE 4

CREWE 3

Crewe are set to complete the signing of Hibs striker Clayton Donaldson as the Alex look to inject some life into their grim start.

Donaldson, 24, will sign a three-year deal today buthis new side's display showed why they are so desperate to add some new blood.

Steve Holland's side are pointless and rock bottom in League One and he knows exactly where their problems lie.

Holland said: "We had plenty of chances and much more possession but Carlisle were a lot more clinical than us.

"We're pleased with the chances that we're creating but we look vulnerable at the back."

Danny Graham has been mis-firing so far this term but responded with a double to earn a win for the Cumbrian outfit.

He scored a brace in the space of four first-half minutes before Chris McCready halved the deficit midway through the opening period.

But Scott Dobie scored from close range and Simon Hackney added a fourth before Tom Pope pulled one back late on for Crewe.
