SKIPPER Sam Hewson kept his cool in the face of the Kop's whistles and fury to give Manchester United a precious first-leg lead in the FA Youth Cup final.
Midfielder Hewson sent Liverpool keeper Martin Hansen diving the wrong way with a perfect 74th-minute penalty after Anfield captain Jay Spearing tripped striker Febian Brandy.
Liverpool led after 16 minutes when Craig Lindfield headed in - but Robbie Threlfall nodded a horror own goal in the 50th minute.
