The NHL Winter Classicis fast becoming as American as apple pie. It is the game ice hockey fans look forward to all year, taking takes place around New Year's Day.
This year featured a side from Canada for the first time.
A record number of hockey fans braved freezing temperatures to watch the lively Detroit Red Wings host the hard working Toronto Maple Leafs.
An incredible 105,591 supporters crammed into the Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, for the annual event that has been held since 2008.
They were treated to a nail biting finish as the home side edged past the Maple Leafs in a tight encounter.
