New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll absolutely lost it on the sidelines after his side were denied a touchdown following a controversial flag.

In the second NFL game of the Thanksgiving treble on Thursday, the Giants looked to make a fast start against the Dallas Cowboys. And it was all going their way early on as they turned over possession on fourth down, and they thought they'd scored the opening touchdown of the game.

A late flag denied the Giants and Tyre Phillips an early touchdown, and they had to settle for a field goal after being moved further downfield. It was a controversial call, and it's fair to say that Daboll wasn't a fan of the decision.

Daboll was absolutely seething on the sidelines at the referee, with the Giants head coach launching his headset in frustration. Daboll felt as though not only was the flag incredibly late, but the call was not justified.

The Giants have become too used to being flagged for illegal formation this season, but Daboll didn't think this was worthy of the call. And with a tough contest away in Dallas, the last thing Daboll will want is a controversial call to deny them victory.

The Giants are enjoying a brilliant season, and they sit at 7-3. But so do their Thanksgiving opponents, with the NFC East continuing to deliver in a crazy season for the division.

The Philadelphia Eagles lead the NFC East due to their exceptional 9-1 record, and even the Washington Commanders have turned things around, as they're record is also positive. The Commanders sit at 6-5, as there must be something in the water on the east coast.

Both the NFC East and the AFC East are made up of teams with positive records, and remain the only divisions to do so. It's been an impressive start for Daboll, who is thriving in his first season as Giants head coach.

It's Daboll's first role as head coach, and he took on the responsibility after leaving the Buffalo Bills at the end of last season. Daboll was the Bills' offensive coordinator, but has a vast experience in the NFL.

Daboll has now worked at seven NFL franchises, an impressive stat seeing as he's only 47. He began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at William & Mary back in 1997, and then was handed a graduate role at Michigan State the following year.

The Giants will be targeting a strong finish to the season to force a play-off spot, and will be hoping Saquon Barkley can remain fit. The Giants have been upsetting opponents all season, in quite the switch from their poor 4-13 record from last year.
