NEW JERSEY NETS will switch their name to Brooklyn Nets when they move before the start of the 2012-13 season.

Rapper Jay-Z, part-owner of the club, revealed the change and announced that he will be the first performer to play at their new stadium – the Barclays Centre – next September.

β€œThis is where I’m from and opening this arena will mean a lot to me,” he said.
