The Los Angeles Chargers social media team took a cheeky swipe at Taylor Swift and her notorious private jet usage in their 2024 schedule release video.
Crafted with a nod to the beloved PC game "The Sims," the video cleverly features a scene where Swift's private jet is parked right in the middle of the street. This playful dig at Swift's travel habits during her Eras Tour adds a layer of humour to the eagerly awaited announcement of the team's games.
Each game of the season is depicted through various iconic scenes from "The Sims," adding a unique twist to the presentation. In Week 4, as the Chargers prepare to take on Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs, the video shifts to a simulated version of Swift's boyfriend, laughing it up on the New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason. They laugh over a viral tweet from 2011 where Travis hilariously misspelled 'squirrels' as 'squirls,' showcasing the Chargers attention to detail.

Swift makes a cameo too, seen waving through a glass window at the back door, trying to catch Travis's eye. Spotting his girlfriend, Travis discreetly exits, leaving Jason clueless, and they both sneak off to Swifts jet, humorously positioned in the middle of the street.
The scene then switches to Sims playing golf, indicating the Chargers Week 5 bye. Swift's frequent use of private jets has stirred up controversy due to their substantial environmental footprint.
JetSpy data discloses that Swift is the owner of a Dassault Falcon 7X, an ultra-long-range business jet initially bought by Willowbrook Ford in 2009 and now registered as N621MM. This aircraft is one of two in her collection. Records linked to these jets share the same Nashville address as Swift's production company, according to the Tennessee Secretary of State.

Critics of the Eras Tour singer have slammed Swift's excessive air travel, particularly for seemingly short distances. A case in point was when her jet undertook a 13-minute flight from St. Louis, Illinois, to St. Louis, Missouri, a journey that could have been covered with a 40-minute drive.
Swift, conscious of the harm being inflicted on the planet, has also bought carbon offset credits for all her private jet usage throughout the "Eras Tour." These carbon credits allow its holder to emit a specific amount of carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases to counterbalance the environmental impact.
Despite the lack of confirmation that Swift was on board her plane during the St. Louis trip, the flight tracker highlighted worries about the environmental impact of unnecessary short flights. Swift's extensive travel for the Eras Tour, which has included 152 shows across several continents over nine months, has brought her carbon footprint into sharp focus.
