Another jockey has fallen foul of Britain’s strict whip rules after winning a big race.
Earlier in October Jamie Powell was suspended for 28 days after exceeding the whip stroke limit on Alphonse Le Grand as he edged a photo-finish to the historic Cesarewich Handicap by a nose.
As Powell had struck his mount ten times, BHA stewards imposed the ultimate sanction when a rider exceeds the six stroke limit by four or more and disqualified the horse.
It was only the third time a winner has been disqualified over a whip offence since the new rules were introduced.
Powell and the connections of Alphonse Le Grande have lodged an appeal which is scheduled to be heard by the BHA independent disciplinary panel on November 14.

The son of Too Darn Hot was an 11-1 shot for the last Group 1 race of the British Flat season, a race from which the winner often goes on to challenge for Classic honours.
After a sustained duel with the Aidan O’Brien challenger Delacroix, ridden by Ryan Moore, Hotazhell battled to victory by the narrowest of margins of a nose.
The runner-up kept lugging into Hotazhell, carrying him off his line, during their battle but the Doncaster stewards decided no offence was committed.
However they did refer Foley’s riding to the Whip Review Committee for further analysis, after which a ban was imposed.
The report said: "Shane Foley, the rider of the winner, Hotazhell, was found to have used his whip once above the permitted level of six from two furlongs out and in the incorrect place on the run to the line.
“Taking into account that this was a Class 1 race, the penalty in respect of the above permitted level was doubled.
“He will be suspended for 12 days as follows; Saturday 09, Monday 11 – Saturday 16, and Monday 18 – Friday 22 November.”
Other jockeys to be sanctioned included former champion jump jockey Harry Skelton who was banned for two days for striking Valgrand when "clearly winning" a Grade 2 prize at Cheltenham on Friday.
Jordan Gainford received a seven day suspension for using his whip nine times, two over the jumps limit of seven, on The Short Go when finishing second in a handicap chase at Cheltenham on Saturday.
