Flat racing's showpiece event of the summer is just around the corner with horses and jockeys competing for more than £10million in prize money.

Royal Ascot 2025 features the sport's leading competitors from across the globe as they battle it out to earn a place in history.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to attend and watch several of their horses compete, including the Willie Mullins-trained Reaching High in the Ascot Stakes.

Willie Mullins is a master trainer and, with Ryan Moore booked, you can see exactly why punters want to be with this horse,” said William Hill’s Lee Phelps.

The horse has been backed down to 4-1 with the firm following strong support, after odds of 12-1 were offered earlier in the week.

Aside from the action on the track, which has eight Group One races including the Gold Cup and St James’s Palace Stakes, stakes will be high on the fashion front, with each enclosure upholding its own distinguished dress code.

Here Mirror Racing summarises the key details for the week ahead...

Three key Royal Ascot 2025 runners, favourites and betting odds

Field Of Gold - St James's Palace Stakes - 5-6 with William Hill

After just failing to catch 2,000 Guineas winner Ruling Court at Newmarket, Field Of Gold stormed to victory in the Irish version at the Curragh. Punters will be hoping the John and Thady Gosden trainee can reverse the HQ form and he is down in many notebooks as one of the 'bankers' of the week on Tuesday.

Los Angeles - Prince Of Wales's Stakes - 9-4

Aidan O'Brien's tough-as-teak performer rallied when headed by Anmaat in the Group One Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh last month - and the pair are on-course for another showdown in Berkshire.

Illinois - Gold Cup - 13-8

In the absence of retired champion Kyprios, Illinois is another key runner of the week for Ballydoyle titan O'Brien. Galloping beyond two miles for the first time, the current Queen's Vase titleholder landed the Ormonde Stakes on his return - and Al Qareem gave the form a nice boost at York.

Weather

The current forecast suggests it will be dry, sunny and warm throughout the week, with a maximum temperature of 26C.

How to watch Royal Ascot 2025

Royal Ascot 2025 tickets

Ticket sales are up year-on-year across all enclosures. Saturday is sold out and Thursday is very nearly sold out. The forecast attendance across the five days is currently 15,000+ ahead of last year’s figure which was 273,526.

Royal procession

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Royal Procession, a tradition which began with King George IV in 1825. A specially commissioned film - “The Royal Procession: Celebrating 200 Years” - has been produced by Ascot and Equine Productions which is airing on Sky and ITV in advance of Royal Ascot and will be available on YouTube. A landau carriage will also be on display in the Grandstand while links with the Royal Family are further strengthened this week as we welcome The Queen’s Reading Room – a tranquil space inspired by Her Majesty’s passion for literature and offering guests a quiet corner to pause and reflect.

Royal Ascot 2025 tips and latest betting

Rosallion - Queen Anne Stakes - 11-4

Richard Hannon's colt was top class in his three-year-old season and showed just how well Ascot suits him in the St James's Palace Stakes. He encountered a hold-up and did not run for 333 days, but returned with an encouraging third in the Lockinge Stakes and is fancied to show his class here.

Gold Digger - Albany Stakes - 6-1

Bought for 260,000 guineas at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale, the filly is by rising star sire Starman and showed a smart turn of foot to win at the first opportunity at Yarmouth. Trainer Richard Spencer landed the 2017 Coventry Stakes with Rajasinghe and he looks to have another smart horse on his hands, with several boosts for the form since.

Satono Reve - Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes - 13-2

The exciting sprinte will carry the hopes of a nation as he looks to provide Japan with an historic first victory at the fixture. Gold Cup ninth Ingrandire was their first runner in 2004 and this year's representative has been chasing world great Ka Ying Rising in his homeland.
