14:30 - Bayern Munich chief denies Upamecano ultimatum

By Nathan Ridley

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has denied reports that Dayot Upamecano has issued the club with an ultimatum during contract talks.

It was claimed this week that Upamecano, whose current deal expires in June, won't negotiate for anything less than a €16million (Β£14m) annual salary and specific release clauses that allow the opportunity to leave.

But Freund, as quoted by Transfermarkt, says: "We remain positive about [the extension talks]. It won't drag on indefinitely, though it doesn't matter to us if it takes place on one particular day or another.

"What's important is that it happens. There's a lot being written. The reports suggest that things are turbulent, but it's not like that at all.

"The talks are proceeding well and matters aren't nearly all that complicated either. He feels comfortable here with the team, the coach and the entire club."
