Sunderland are plotting a new bid for Norwich's Steven Naismith.

Boss David Moyes, who signed the forward for Everton from Rangers when he was in charge at Goodison Park, was close to sealing a deal for the Scotland international before the summer window closed.

The Wearsiders could not push that through before the deadline, but Moyes remains keen and is ready to move again when the window reopens in January.

Naismith has slipped out of the plans of manager Alex Neil at the Championship Canaries.
