The Premier League is just days away and Liverpool are yet to make a new signing.
โ
Arne Slot does not yet have to worry bedding in new faces to his squad as he becomes more familiar with the players at his disposal. The Reds take on Ipswich at Portman Road in the opening weekend of the season and Slot will have to rely upon Jurgen Klopp's faithful to get off to a quick start.
โ
It had looked like Richard Hughes would break the side's duck by landing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. The Spain international was ultimately persuaded by the Basque side to remain with the club, foiling Liverpool's plan to strengthen their midfield.
โ
An alternative option has yet to emerge for the Reds with little over two weeks remaining until the transfer window shuts. Mirror Football looks at the the transfer stories surrounding the club at the moment.

While many would be hoping to see a midfielder arrive at Anfield, it seems the Reds are succession planning. The club have the opportunity to sign Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool simply need to decide whether they want to sign the shotstopper, who is open to heading straight out on loan after completing a transfer. The Valencia star is keen on making the move.
โ
"Mamardashvili, there will be one more meeting this week," said Romano. "There are contacts, very active contacts ongoing. It's on Liverpool, basically. So, they need to decide what they want to do. They have this possibility. It's on the table. It's available.
"Mamardashvili is keen on a move to Liverpool, with a loan as the next step. So not going to Liverpool immediately, but being a future Liverpool player."
โ
Mamardashvili's agent is said to have landed in Spain to negotiate the move with his client's current club. Valencia are reported to have rejected a first offer but welcome a second.
Liverpool open to departure
The Reds are reported to be open to offers for 18-year-old forward Ben Doak.
The Scotland international was called up to his nation's Euro 2024 squad before being ruled out with injury but has nevertheless built a stellar reputation. Liverpool would consider permanent and loan bids, per Sky Sports. Leicester City are among a number of Premier League clubs interested.
โ
Doak arrived at Anfield from Celtic at the age of just 16 and has made 10 first team appearances. A meniscus tear saw the youngster miss the bulk of last season.
New Sepp van den Berg offer
Football Insider claim PSV Eindhoven are preparing a new offer for Sepp van den Berg. The Dutch defender is said to have been the subject of bids from the Eredivisie side already this summer, though none have come close to the ยฃ20m Liverpool are asking for.
โ
PSV remain interest and are are set to return with a bid, though it appears unlikely it will reach the Reds' valuation. The defender's ambitions this season are simply to play.
โFor me, itโs just about game time and, at the moment, Iโm getting it here, so Iโm happy at the moment," he said earlier in pre-season. "But like I said, itโs still early. You never know what can happen, but for me the most important thing is playing.
โIf I can do it here, thereโs no better place. Itโs one of the biggest, if not the biggest, clubs in the world, so if itโs here, itโs my dream. But for me, the most important thing is playing, so I will see what happens.โ
