Tottenham are in need of attacking reinforcements and Brentford's Igor Thiago is one of the latest names to be linked with a move

Tottenham have discovered that it would take £70million to prise Brazilian striker Igor Thiago away from Brentford. The goal machine has been linked with several clubs ahead of the January window after his prolific run of form this term.
The 24-year-old only signed for the Bees in the summer of 2024, having joined from Belgian side Club Brugge for a then club-record fee of £30 million. However, last season he spent the majority of the campaign sidelined with a knee injury, making just eight appearances across all competitions.
This term, though, it has been a vastly different story for Thiago, as he has taken the Premier League by storm. The forward has already scored 12 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions, expertly filling the void vacated by Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo following their departures in the summer.
Only Manchester City 's Erling Haaland has scored more goals than Thiago in the Premier League this season. The likes of Hugo Ekitike, Danny Welbeck and Jean-Philippe Mateta are not too far behind.

According to ESPN Brazil, the London club would demand a fee in the region of £70 million for their star man should a sale be sanctioned in the upcoming transfer windows.
The report adds that Spurs and Aston Villa are among his Premier League suitors, while two clubs in Spain and Italy are also keen. While Brentford have little interest in selling Thiago, they are reportedly aware that offers could arrive over the next couple of windows, potentially even as early as January.

Striker has been something of a problem position for Spurs this season, with Dominic Solanke sidelined by an ankle injury sustained back in August. The 28-year-old featured in just two Premier League games and the UEFA Super Cup Final before picking up the issue.
Richarlison and summer loan signing Randal Kolo Muani have filled the No.9 role at various points this season, but there is little doubt it is a position Spurs will need to address sooner rather than later.
Frank confirmed in his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference this week that they expect to be busy in next month's window.
"Of course. We will definitely be in the market," the Spurs boss revealed. "No doubt about that.
"We want them as early as possible, like every other time and let’s see if we can have them before the 31st of January."
