Thomas Tuchel has gathered his England squad together for the first time since becoming the Three Lions manager, and the players will have to get used to a new way of working

Thomas Tuchel has begun his new era by making a major change to England’s training schedule.

England boss Tuchel welcomed his squad to St George’s Park on Monday with Newcastle ’s Carabao Cup final hero Dan Burn one of the first through the door. The likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Co reported up ready for the World Cup qualifiers double header with Albania and Latvia at Wembley.

They will also notice a big shift in their timetable as Tuchel’s players will train in the afternoon rather than the morning which they did under former boss Gareth Southgate. The sessions will also be in late afternoon and be much closer to the 7.45pm kick-off times ready to face Albania and Latvia.

It will also allow Tuchel to hold meetings with the players in the morning and have get-togethers with the whole squad and one-on-one sessions. They have effectively flipped the schedule.

Burn, 32, stayed with Newcastle’s jubilant players on Sunday night and was picked up and driven to St George’s Park for the report up time before Monday lunchtime. Tuchel was pictured hugging Burn while others like Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson arrived in great spirits.

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer missed his club’s game with Arsenal with a muscle injury and is expected to pull out with the FA medics waiting on scans.

Nottingham Forest ’s Morgan Gibbs-White was called up on Sunday for the double header. England are hopeful that the rest of the squad - 26 were named on Friday - swill be fit to train and play this week.

Wembley sold out the first game with Albania some time ago as England fans gave a huge stamp of approval for Tuchel’s reign as England manager.

Latvia is also close to becoming a sell-out and that is again another good sign for the new boss and his regime.
