Norwich have no fresh injuries for Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash with former boss Paul Lambert's Aston Villa.

Striker Gary Hooper could be set for his competitive debut in this weekend's clash following a pre-season shin problem.

Hooper, who signed for the Canaries in the summer, was an unused substitute at Tottenham last week.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's match Norwich boss Chris Hughton has emphasised the importance of ensuring his side notch up a home win, β€œWe have a very good record at home, and even though we’re up against a good team in Aston Villa, irrespective of who the opposition are, we have to look at it as an opportunity of getting three points.”

Elliott Bennett is the only definite absentee. The winger, who signed a two-year contract extension this week, is recovering from surgery on a cruciate ligament injury.

Provisional squad: Ruddy, Whittaker, Martin, Turner, Garrido, Howson, Johnson, Redmond, Hoolahan, Van Wolfswinkel, Snodgrass, Elmander, Fer, Bassong, Hooper, Pilkington, Bunn, Becchio, Olsson, Ryan Bennett, Fox, Ayala, Tettey.
