Things just weren't happening for Liverpool prior to Saturday's clash with Huddersfield at Anfield.

Last weekend's 4-1 defeat to Tottenham at Wembley has got plenty of people questioning the decisions of manager Jurgen Klopp, but against the Terriers it was the choices of the payers on the pitch that were questioned.

Because when the Reds were awarded a penalty in the first half after Tommy Smith pulled Roberto Firmino's shirt, it was a shock to see Mohamed Salah step up and take it.

Liverpool had James Milner, their first-choice penalty-taker last season, and Firmino - who scored a penalty at Watford on the opening day of the season - on the pitch, but it was Salah who stepped up.

The former Roma man did score a crucial penalty to take Egypt to the World Cup recently, but it seemed a strange call.

And he promptly saw his effort saved by Jonas Lossl.

Cue everyone asking the same thing.
