Darren Fletcher is set to take charge of his first game as Manchester United interim boss against Burnley on Wednesday and the Red Devils could have a couple of key players available

Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount will both be available for Manchester United vs Burnley as they aim to kick-start the post-Ruben Amorim era. The Red Devils take on the Clarets at Turf Moor on Wednesday evening in their first game since the Portuguese coach was sacked.
β
Darren Fletcher has been placed in caretaker charge for the game. And he could have a couple of key players available once again after Fernandes and Mount both missed the draw with Leeds United. United captain Fernandes has missed the last three games, while Mount has sat out of the last two.
β
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Fletcher said: βMason [Mount] and Bruno [Fernandes] were pushing to play against Leeds and the decision was that they weren't quite ready. So they have trained and they should be back in the squad.
β
βThey are on managed minutes and restricted minutes because they have only just returned to training so that is good news, especially because they are players who have been in good form. Mason Mount's form has been fantastic and Bruno Fernandes... you don't have to speak about him.

To have them available for selection is obviously great news for me, the players and the club and the fans.β
And while United might have Mount and Fernandes to call upon once more, they are still missing a few stars. Bryan Mbeumo, Amad and Noussair Mazraoui remain at the African Cup of Nations, while Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt have recently been struggling with their own issues.
β
Should the trio remain out, that could see Fletcher add to the squad with youth players - sons Jack and Tyler among those who could be included. The former midfielder stopped short of confirming whether they would be in the squad.

He added: βThat would be disclosing team information before the game and I am not going to do that before the game. They were in the training group on Monday because that was already arranged before I got there.
βThey have been in the squad recently but obviously we have got a couple of players back from injury so we will assess that tomorrow and we will have to assess a couple of players tomorrow due to the short turnaround from games. They are in the periphery squad but whether they make the match squad I don't know yet, that remains to be seen.β
