The cut-throat business of football management was laid bare last night when new figures revealed shocking survival statistics.
β
The League Managers Association published their latest report and the depressing figures prove managers have never been more vulnerable.
β
The LMA report reveals more are getting the boot and bosses are being given even less time to make an impact.
β
It all makes for some grim reading with this season on course to be a record breaker - for all the wrong reasons.
By March 31 a staggering 40 managers had been sacked, the highest figure in 10 years and beating the previous highest total of 36, set two seasons ago. Fifteen of the 40 were first time managers.

This season will be the worst ever for dismissals if the current trend continues. The current record of 46 was set in 2006/7.
And nowhere is life more brutal for managers than in the Championship.
The majority of the managers to lose jobs this season have come from the Championship - a record 16 - four more than in the same period in 2012/13.
β
And Championship managers are now lasting just 0.74 years, roughly nine months.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce, whose own job is under threat, believes the money at stake is to blame for managers being at greater risk of the sack than ever before, especially in the second tier.
He said: βWe are more volatile than ever. There seems to be a lot of volatility in the Championship based on everybody striving to get into the big money.
βChampionship money is Β£5-6m. Premier League next season is Β£110-Β£120m.β
