Liverpool may be sweating over their chances of keeping Trent Alexander-Arnold, but they are more confident over contract talks with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
โ
All three players are out of contract at the end of the season and are yet to agree extensions, meaning they are now free to negotiate with clubs from overseas.
โ
Real Madrid are long-term admirers of Alexander-Arnold and even made an approach to sign the right-back this week. Liverpool have, in turn, offered their homegrown star a huge five-year deal in a bid to keep him at Anfield beyond this season.
โ
And while the Reds are unsure whether that will be enough to keep Alexander-Arnold out of Real Madrid's clutches, the prognosis on Salah and Van Dijk is more promising.

While Alexander-Arnold has made headlines this week, speculation over Salah's future has also dominated the narrative at Anfield in recent weeks.
โ
Salah has been in sensational form for Liverpool this season and tops the Premier League when it comes to both goals and assists this season, with 17 and 13 respectively. He, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold have all played a major part of Liverpool's dream start to life under Arne Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp as head coach back in the summer.

The Egypt star said once again on Friday night that he felt the current season was likely to be his final one at the club given he and Liverpool are no closer to reaching an agreement over a contract extension.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Salah was asked if he really felt that was the case and replied: โSo far, yes. It's the last six months.
โThere is no progress there. We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see.โ
โ
He added: โI think the thing in my head is OK if this is your last six months or last year, what do you want to see in the future? Do you want to look back and say โoh I was concerned about the contract or stressed?โ or do you just want to say โOk I had an unbelievable seasonโ.
โSo that is in my head now. If I feel a kind of distraction I just remind myself โOK you want to look back and say I had an unbelievable seasonโ so thatโs what I want to do.โ
