Leeds fans convinced Daniel Farke sack decision has been made seconds after winning title - The Mirror

Daniel Farke has led Leeds United to the Championship title but the manager's future is far from secure despite him sealing yet another promotion to the top flight

Leeds United fans fear the club have already decided not to persist with Daniel Farke despite the German leading the team to Championship title. Leeds ended the campaign with 100 points, pipping Burnley to the title on goal difference after a dramatic stoppage-time winner from Manor Solomon at Plymouth.

Despite the title run, there have been suggestions Farke might not be around for the Whites' first season back in the top-flight. It has been reported that his top-flight record with Norwich has concerned higher-ups, with Farke suffering two relegations (both after earning promotion himself) while in charge of the Canaries.

Solomon's winner sparked wild celebrations from the players at Home Park, but some fans spotted a rather different reaction from Farke. Many Leeds supporters want the boss to stick around, but a few fear the worst.

"Watching Farke sitting on the bench while players celebrated on the pitch. Absolutely heartbreaking," one fan wrote on social media. "Looks like the writing is on the wall. Fingers crossed I'm wrong and we go to the Prem with Daniel."

"The way Daniel Farke was at the end makes me think he knows they’re moving on," wrote another supporter. "What was all that Farke business? He already knows something we don’t?" asked another.

Going into their final game of the season, Leeds knew victory would clinch the title due to their goal difference advantage over Plymouth. They were behind at the break through a Sam Byram own goal, though, with Willy Gnonto's equaliser not enough as Burnley came from behind to lead at home to Millwall.

Solomon had the last word, though, twisting and turning before placing his shot out of the reach of Plymouth keeper Conor Hazard. Burnley extended their lead to 3-1 as top scorer Josh Brownhill scored his second of the day, but it mattered not.

The title wasn't the only thing to be decided on Saturday afternoon. There were two play-off spots to be determined, and it was Coventry City and Bristol City who kept themselves in with a chance of promotion after a win and a draw respectively.

At the other end of the table, Plymouth were all but certain to join Cardiff City in suffering relegation even before kick-off against Leeds, and so it proved. The final relegated team are Luton Town, thanks to a combination of a 5-3 defeat at West Brom and a point for fellow strugglers Hull at Portsmouth.
