Cristiano Ronaldo left an Al-Nassr staff member in tears when he surprised them with a birthday cake and song. The chef, who was spending his birthday working at the club's pre-season training camp, was left emotional when the footballing legend took some time out of his strict schedule to celebrate the special occasion with him.

Ronaldo has established a fierce reputation as a laser-focused player who wants to win at all costs and has rarely given glimpses into his softer, more human side. This steadfast attitude towards his craft has proven its worth, with a plethora of major trophies under his belt and a whopping 938 career goals so far.

The 40-year-old has been successful in every era of his career and will go down as one of the most beloved and highly-rated players of all time. However, Ronaldo has not been immune to criticism throughout his career, particularly regarding his personality.

However, the Portuguese icon has shown his class and softer side after being captured moving an Al-Nassr colleague to tears. In a video posted on social media, Ronaldo is seen surprising one of the club's chefs with a huge birthday cake adorned with sparklers and candles.

As he hands over the cake with a smile and a song, the chef is seen getting visibly emotional while Ronaldo embraces him warmly.

The video quickly circulated online and went viral, as viewers jumped in to praise Ronaldo's actions, with one noting: "Ronaldo, what a top dude for real."

Another said: "And people say he is arrogant. My GOAT," while a third added: "Ronaldo is genuinely a nice guy."

Ronaldo rarely showcases his more personable side, with many football fans only seeing his serious and strict attitude towards playing and achieving his ambitions.

However, this touching moment with a staff member gives fans a small glimpse into what the Portuguese star is like away from the pitch.

Al-Nassr are currently in a pre-season training camp in Austria. In friendly matches throughout July, they defeated SK St Johann 5-2 and Toulouse FC 2-1.

They are taking on Championship side Sheffield United in their final friendly match in the country before heading to Almeria, Spain, to take on UD Almeria on August 10.

After scoring the equaliser against Toulouse and continuing his goalscoring exploits despite being the ripe age of 40, Ronaldo took to social media with a battle-ready message for his fans.

The veteran striker said: "The hunger never fades. Still work to do and we’re just getting started," alongside a flexing emoji.

The Saudi Pro League is set to begin on Thursday, August 28, with Al-Nassr taking part in the Saudi Super Cup ahead of the regular season beginning. They will face league champions Al-Ittihad in the semi final of the cup competition on August 19 at 1pm UK time.
