Everything you need to know about Wilfried Nancy's future:
- Wilfried Nancy has become the first manager in Celtic's history to lose his first four matches in charge. These results include a 3-1 loss to St Mirren in the League Cup Final and a recent 2-1 league defeat to Dundee United.
- Despite the poor run of form, CEO Michael Nicholson has publicly stated that the club remains "absolutely solid" behind the manager. The hierarchy is reportedly involved in January transfer planning with Nancy and is hesitant to abandon the project just two weeks into his two-and-a-half-year contract.
- Support among the fanbase has deteriorated rapidly, with vocal "Nancy out" and "sack the board" chants occurring during recent matches. This frustration is fuelled by the teamβs defensive struggles and the loss of the seasonβs first domestic trophy.
- Nancy has faced criticism for attempting to implement a 3-4-3 formation and a "total football" philosophy that critics argue the current squad is struggling to adopt. He remains defiant, however, stating that he does not need to prove his methods to anyone, given his past success in MLS.
- Speculation regarding a replacement is already mounting, with legendary former boss Martin O'Neill being the favourite among fans and bookmakers. Other names linked to the position include BodΓΈ/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen and Ferencvaros coach Robbie Keane.
- If Nancy were to leave Glasgow, reports from the BBC suggest he is already a top target for French side AS Saint-Etienne. The Ligue 2 club reportedly admired Nancy prior to his move to Scotland and would view him as a primary candidate to lead their promotion charge.
- Despite the pressure continuing to mount, sources have reported that Celtic are not planning to sack Nancy right now.
