Al-Hilal have confirmed the arrival of Neymar in an eye-catching switch from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazil international is set for a huge £2.5m a week contract with the Saudi Pro League side, who previously tried and failed to sign Kylian Mbappe. He joins former Premier League men Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Neves at his new club.

It brings to an end his six-year association with PSG, who he joined in a world record deal back in 2017. The 31-year-old, who won the Champions League with Barcelona back in 2015, was unable to add the top European trophy during his time with the French side.

Neymar joins a team who got their season off to a winning start. They beat Abha in their Saudi Pro League opener, with another Brazilian - Malcom - scoring all three goals in a 3-1 win.

PSG had been looking to offload Neymar since the spring, as reported by Mirror Football at the time. His exit comes not long after the Parisian side lost another member of their star-studded attack, with Lionel Messi moving to Inter Miami.

The third member of that front three, Kylian Mbappe, had sat out their opening Ligue 1 fixture against Lorient after indicating he would not be extending his deal at the Parc des Princes. However, the relationship between player and club has now improved, with a statement over the weekend confirming their reconciliation.

Neymar is understood to have cost Al-Hilal some £77m. His £129m annual salary, around £2.5m per week, makes him one of the best-paid players in world football.
