Arsenal will face Liverpool in the last four of the Carabao Cup.

Chelsea will take on Tottenham in the other semi-final clash as the four teams aim to become the first side to lift any silverware this term.

The first legs will be played during the week commencing 3 January 2022 and the second legs will be played during the week commencing 10 January 2022

The two winners will square off in the final at Wembley on 27 February.

Holders Manchester City were dumped out earlier in the competition meaning there will be a different winner for the first time since 2017 following their recent domination.

Arsenal saw off Sunderland 5-1 at the Emirates on Tuesday night with Eddie Nketiah grabbing a hat-trick.

Chelsea and Tottenham will renew rivalries

Mikel Arteta's side have enjoyed a renaissance and the Spaniard has already delivered a cup during his short tenure, the FA Cup back in 2020.

Liverpool produced a stunning second-half comeback to see off Leicester City.

Diogo Jota's penalty saw off the Foxes after Takumi Minamino's stoppage time equaliser.

Second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher saved two penalties in the shoot-out.

Two years ago Liverpool fielded a youth team at this stage as the senior players were out in Qatar winning the Club World Cup and lost 5-0 at Aston Villa.

This time Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, facing five matches in 12 days, made 10 changes with three academy players in the team and another five on the bench.

Jurgen Klopp reached the final of this competition back in 2016 but has been unable to better that showing.
