The Championship clash between Barnsley and Leeds was marred by crowd trouble as the Tykes took bragging rights in the Yorkshire derby.

There were pockets of disturbances at Oakwell after Chris Wood had fired Leeds into the ascendancy.

The corner of the ground between the home and away fans was a particular area of concern for stewards and police with supporters of both clubs approaching the section to get involved.

Police managed to separate opposing fans and the rest of the match seemed to pass off without incident.

On the pitch, Leeds' promotion hopes suffered a setback as they blew their early lead to lose 3-2 to Paul Heckingbottom's side.

Tom Bradshaw drew Barnsley level on the stroke of half-time before Ryan Kent fired the hosts into the lead three minutes after the break.

Conor Hourihane, who has been strongly linked with a move to Aston Villa, might have increased his price tag as he rattled in a superb free-kick to make it three one six minutes later.

Mike Dean offered Leeds a route back into the game when he pointed to the spot for handball against Marc Roberts, with television replays showing the incident had taken place outside the penalty area.

Wood netted from 12 yards but Leeds couldn't grab a leveller.
