Jens Lehmann has been handed a £112,500 fine for damaging his neighbour’s garage with a chainsaw.
The Arsenal Invincible received the bill from a court in his hometown of Starnburg after being accused by the public prosecutor of sawing off a roof beam. The verdict was delivered after the former Germany goalkeeper appealed an initial ruling where he was handed a suspended prison sentence in addition to a fine of more than £350,000.
Following the decision, Lehmann’s lawyer Florian Ufer said: "Mr Lehmann accepts responsibility. He has come to an agreement with his neighbour." Ufer added Lehmann had also paid parking fees he'd been accused of avoiding.
Judge Tanja Walter had noted the 54-year-old 'consistently portrayed himself as a victim of the justice system'. Public prosecutor, Stefan Kreutzer, added "that he obviously believes he is above the law”.

The ex-Schalke, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart shotstopper had his driving licence confiscated by police while they investigated the allegations further.
"Mr. Lehmann was subjected to a police check on September 23, 2024 at around 1:30 a.m. due to his unusual driving behaviour in a car in the inner city area of Munich," senior public prosecutor Anne Leiding said.
"The police are said to have noticed a clear smell of alcohol and an unsafe manner. A breath alcohol test did not produce any usable results, whereupon a blood sample was ordered and the driver's licence was confiscated. Our investigations are still pending. Suspicions of drunk driving continue."
Lehmann captured headlines earlier this year when he purchased the branding rights to 'the Invincibles'. The former goalkeeper spent £30,000 to buy the trademark and planned to set up a company, which he says has the supporter of his teammates and Arsene Wenger.
“I had the idea because the name ‘Invincibles’ becomes more and more popular approaching the 20th anniversary," Lehmann told the Daily Mail. “Nobody had it, so I was looking into it. I was ready to get the branding rights for our group, so everybody who’s using it is violating our brand. The club were probably a little surprised because nobody thought about having the brand name registered. At least they know it’s now being controlled.
"We have 28 players and 12 staff members, which includes the boss. The company has not been set up yet because we’re still preparing. There will be one or two events here very soon where we give something back to the people. Everybody will be a shareholder of the company. It’s easier to get all the members of our group in one company because you have costs and income created."
