Ange Postecoglou has jumped to the defence of his Tottenham player, who were beaten again at Nottingham Forest, with their injury list continuing to influence their starting XI

Ange Postecoglou admitted it is "only logical" that Tottenham's players will experience a drop off after they were beaten by Nottingham Forest.
This season's surprise package secured another statement win as they beat the north Londoners at the City Ground. It completes a miserable few days for the team from the capital, who conceded six when they were beaten at home by Liverpool on Sunday.
Postecoglou's team have continued to be immensely inconsistent, winning at both Manchester clubs but losing other very winnable games. The Australian has often pointed to their injury list as a major reason behind their up and down results.
The majority of their backline is currently sidelined which has left the same players continuously playing. The Tottenham boss has come under pressure following some damaging defeats but highlighted the workload he's having to put his players through.

It's only logical they are not going to be at their sharpest but they are trying. It's obviously disappointing to be beat, tight game, it was never going to be a game with too many chances.
“We tried to generate as many opportunities as we could and Forest played well, we just couldn’t get over the line. I still thought we created some good moments and we weren’t able to capitalise on them, the keeper has pulled off some good saves to keep them in the game. We needed a goal to break them open and we didn’t seem to get it.”
Tottenham have lost four of their last five games with their only win coming over Southampton at St Mary's. Their recent losses mean they remain in the bottom half of the table despite the club having European ambitions.
The Australian added: “The boys are giving everything. I can’t ask for more. We’re asking for a lot from a lot of them, and it’s not through a want of trying, like I said, that’s all I can ask for. We’re putting in the effort, we just weren’t able to get over the top today.”
Tottenham's woes were compounded by an injury suffered by Radu Dragusin, who was forced off in Nottingham with what looks like an ankle issue. "It was a knock on his ankle, he said he couldn’t continue, we’ll have to assess him and see how we are," said Postecoglou.
