The Australian, who led Spurs to a fifth-place finish this term, has been courted by the BBC and ITV ahead of the summer tournament in Germany. He isn't the only manager who broadcasters have gone after, though.

According to The Mail, ITV hold the upper hand when it comes to the former Celtic manager, though no deal has been announced. Both are also said to have made efforts to land Jurgen Klopp for the tournament with no success.

Klopp, who managed in his native Germany before taking over at Liverpool in 2015, was reportedly the subject of enquiries going into the summer's competition. However, the 56-year-old will continue with his plans to take a break from football.

A number of members of Postecoglou's Tottenham squad are expected to feature at the Euros as players. James Maddison is part of England's 33-man pre-tournament squad, with 26 of that group making the final cut, while Denmark star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could line up against his club colleague in the group stages.

Spurs' manager and players are currently away in Australia for a post-season friendly against Newcastle, a decision which hasn't gone down to well with former England striker Alan Shearer. Those squad members involved at the Euros or Copa America this summer will link up with their respective national sides after their return.

"Can you imagine if you're a player who is playing in either the Copa America or Euro 2024 having to do that? Madness. Crazy," Shearer said on Match Of The Day. "I wouldn't be happy at all. It's crazy for Newcastle to go and play Spurs there on Wednesday night and then another game."
