Sir Alex Ferguson has sold his luxury five-bed Cheshire mansion after first putting the property up for sale in November.
The house was initially listed for £3.5million, but it has now been sold to an unknown buyer after the asking price was knocked down to £3.25m in February. "This impressive, deceptively spacious detached property is situated on one of Cheshire's most desirable roads," said estate agents acting on Ferguson's behalf.
"Positioned within in a very private, gated and secure plot. Walking distance of Wilmslow town centre and the train station. This distinctive family home boasts approximately 7000 sq ft."
Ferguson and his wife Lady Cathy moved into the home in 2010 so that the legendary Manchester United manager's commute to the club's Carrington training ground would be shorter and the couple lived together there for over a decade.

Ferguson has since moved into a new £1.2m property in the village of Goostrey to be closer to his son Darren, who currently manages League One side Peterborough United, and his grandchildren.
The 82-year-old remains a director at United and is regularly spotted attending games at Old Trafford. Ferguson has been involved in the recent changes at the club following Sir Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of a minority stake and is feeling "optimistic" about United's future.
"I am still a director of the club and I know Jim well," Ferguson said in November. "We shall have to see what he does but I am optimistic."
And Ratcliffe recently revealed in an appearance on The Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast that Ferguson was the first person he went to see after signing the deal to purchase a stake in United.
"I had dinner with him the first time I met seven or eight years ago, the League Managers' Association dinner," Ratcliffe explained. "He was the first person I went to see [when the takeover was signed].
"We signed a deal on Christmas Eve at 4pm after about one-and-a-half years of trying! We went up to Manchester on about January 2 and Sir Alex was the first person Dave [Brailsford] and I went to see at his home. We were there from about 9-10am but left at 1pm.
"He's very thoughtful about the club is Alex. You have to pinch yourselves occasionally. Alex takes his time with people but we have a very engaging conversation.
"I enjoy his company, he's good company, and he's very thoughtful about the club."
