LEE CLARK hailed his Huddersfield side as they gave Macclesfield a torrid time.
Jordan Rhodes, Anthony Pilkington, Benik Afobe, Jamie McCombe, Antony Kay and Gary Roberts were all on the scoresheet in the rout.
“With all due respect to Macclesfield, it could have been double figures,” said Clark. “It was a performance of the highest quality and I am looking forward to sitting in the warmth in front of my TV to watch the third-round draw. “
Clark revealed he is confident Arsenal starlet Afobe will extend his loan spell at the Galpharm Stadium, saying: “Benik is a special talent. We have been talking to Arsenal and we are confident we will extend his loan until January.’’
Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson felt his well-beaten side looked tired.
He said: “We always knew it was going to be difficult. We looked dead on our feet.”
