Craig Farrell's strike gave York an opening win as they edged out Crawley
β
The former Leeds man curled home via a post with 19 minutes to go, after The Minstermen had twice been denied by the woodwork.
β
Richard Brodie forced Simon Rayner into an early save before hammering a 17th-minute free-kick against the bar.
Crawley then lost captain Chris Giles to injury and, following a reshuffle, they never got going.
With time running out for York, Farrell charged down a clearance to score.
