Bury were dragged back into the League Two relegation battle as they were beaten at Gigg Lane.
The Quakers took a sixth-minute lead through Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu's penalty.
The lead was doubled when midfielder Michael Cummins found the net in the 67th minute following Kevin Gall's corner.
Sodje struck late on for the home side but it was too little too late.
