Mikkel ANDERSEN’S injury-time spot-kick save denied Carlisle a dramatic victory.
The Danish goalkeeper dived full length to palm away Gary Madine’s penalty and salvage a share of the spoils for Rovers, who had looked set for all three points.
Chris Lines headed Rovers in front three minutes after the break, but Mike Grella side-footed an 87th-minute equaliser from a cross by sub Ben Marshall.
Carlisle were twice denied by the woodwork, James Berrett’s 25-yard effort hitting a post before Lubomir Michalik hit the bar.
Stuart Campbell also chipped against the bar for Rovers, with a draw a fair outcome.
