JUSTIN RICHARDS fired a double as Woking strengthened their play-off bid with victory at struggling York.

Both sides created chances in an exciting first-half as City striker Andy Bishop forced a superb save from Woking keeper Shwan Jalal and Paul D Robinson failed to convert a Paul Groves cross.

Karl Murray tested City keeper Chris Porter and seconds later Jefferson Louis fluffed his lines.

Richards tested Porter with a right-foot shot before the Woking striker finally broke the deadlock, converting Ian Selley's through-ball.

After the break, City midfielder Darren Dunning cleared Murray's header off the line from a corner, although Jonathan Boardman made a similar block to deny Dave Merris.

But Richards wrapped up the points in stoppage time, converting Stephen Evans' cross.
