DARLINGTON gained revenge for a four-goal thrashing at Gay Meadow with a comprehensive victory to extend their unbeaten run to five games.
The Quakers took a first-half lead when Neil Wainwright turned in a through ball from Adrian Webster after good work from American midfielder Adolfo Gregorio.
The home side grabbed a second goal midway through the second-half, when Alun Armstrong chased a lost cause and gained possession.
He then turned the ball inside to veteran midfielder Craig Hignett who fired high into the net.
Darlington sealed victory soon after with a second goal from the impressive Hignett.
Shrews keeper Scott Howie denied substitute Mark Convery and also kept out Wainwright's follow-up, but could not prevent Hignett scoring his second with a close-range effort.
